Following the success of his creations of the Sponge series he followed by pulling into the fashion industry. He took famous designers and celebrities, stretched and twisted them to form iconic faces and logos on to his designs.
In The TRIBUTE series, Mike recreates the logos featuring brand founders, creative directors and designers themselves imbued inside the recognizable logo with their brand DNA. Part of his designs includes Yves Saint Laurent and his representation of the YSL logo. Furthermore, the face and body of Chanel’s fashion designer and icon, Karl Lagerfeld takes shape as the Chanel symbol, the double Cs. It sounds melodramatic but Mike used his own way to represent these people and these logos, in his own style. Bringing forward the importance of these one of a kind entities in fashion.
