The Prahran Hotel in Melbourne

The Prahran Hotel in Melbourne

What was previously a pub in Melbourne, Australia, is now the Prahran Hotel, a cool, factory-like hotel that boasts design and architectural elements.

We were looking for a sense of drama and voyeurism.
— Justin Northrop, Architect

Designed and completed in 2013 by Techné Architecture + Interior Design, the hotel uses various elements like steel, concrete, and recycled spotted-gum and leather upholstery to create a unique and spacious area for guests to socialize. A series of giant concrete waterpipes strike the street facade with full view of the booths and the people occupying the space. The whole design of the place gives people the opportunity to interact in non-standard ways with a variety of seating and gathering arrangements.

And... That's it!
