In this stunning editorial styled by Lotta Aspenberg, featuring collections by Miu Miu and Prada, photographer Kerry Dean captures the frigid, arrant landscape of Iceland, and proves that rugged adventuring does not have to come at the expense of fashion.

Combining futuristic designs and bio-diverse fabrics, the colors and textures in the clothes reflect the pulse of a geologically active country and emulate its terrain.

White fabric pants overlaid in plastic suggest nacreous icy glaciers, a shiny black leather jacket calls to mind vast volcanic lava beds, and a red plastic anorak and red cotton pants allude to the molten lava flowing underground.

A bit of pink hair lines the pockets of a red linen dress; a nod to the infamous trolls that dwell in the isolated rocks and caves across the country. Suspended between the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, this volcanic island is an explorer’s wildest dream. Through her images and with these clothes, Dean pays fair tribute to the complex beauty and savage landscape of Iceland.
