TAIPEI APARTMENT BECOMES A DESIGN STUDIO & RESIDENCE

TAIPEI APARTMENT BECOMES A DESIGN STUDIO & RESIDENCE

Interior design firm The Ganna Studio renovated a 1st floor, 40+ year old apartment in downtown Taipei to not only become their studio, but also a cozy home for the designers themselves. The apartment is located in a community that once housed military families and the buildings are full of historical details. The duo kept the original structure while renovating parts of the interior for modern times.

The team joined classic elements with modern ones to create a harmonious mix of styles that perfectly embodies the design firm.

Large windows on one side of the kitchen were installed to bring the maximum amount of natural light into the space. Pivoting molding panels were installed as a partition between the kitchen and office space, allowing it to be separated off when needed but opened up for extra light. People working can also enjoy views of the garden.

Neutral grays are applied to the walls, panels, bookcases, and ceiling allowing the furniture and accessories to really pop and be the decoration.

A rustic herringbone floor and reclaimed wood table help balance out the modern elements in the space.

Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves are used throughout to neatly house design materials for the firm.

Despite the small space, they’ve managed to fit all their needs into it while keeping it organized and tidy. Instead of building a wall between the bedroom and office, they installed glass panels allowing for light to enter the bedroom and making it feel less closed in.

And...That´s it!
