Day & Night light by Éléonore Delisse
As the year goes by, many of us deal with seasonal changes. From the hot summer days with rays of sunlight warming our skin to the dark, cold winters that leave us shivering in our thick coats. With less sunlight during the winter, it's easy to feel a bit melancholy.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects millions each year. Caused by the lack of sunlight during the winter, SAD victims deal with changes in their "biological clock", which controls your sleep-wake pattern, and problems with serotonin, the brain chemical that affects mood.
Noticing the lack of design-led response to SAD victims, designer Éléonore Delisse created "Day & Night". Rotating dichroic glass, glass that displays two different colors, alongside a lamp casts beautiful colors. Glowing an alluring blue in the morning to stimulate wakefulness and a warm orange at night to softly send you to sleep, "Day & Night" projects the colors that we need to rebalance our circadian rhythm. This well-crafted design is the perfect solution for those winter blues.
"Day & Night" by Éléonore Delisse was named "Life Enhancer of the Year" by Wallpaper magazine.
