Nike Create Ice Hood Concept to Help Athletes Cool Down
Nike is working with decathlete Ashton Eaton to develop a cooling hood that will help him recover in between events. From watching a decathlon, you can see athletes pour water over their heads after competing. This is an attempt to cool down quickly to recover sooner. The method works but not very effectively.
Nike has come out with this hood that act like a sponge. The hood will soak up the cold water and cool you instantly once the hood is placed on your head. Olympic gold medalist Ashton Eaton aided Nike in the development of this hood. The hood fits snugly over the head and cools 3 core areas: the forehead, temples, and neck. Their idea is to cool the head quickly to reduce the body's core temperature more efficiently which leads to a quick recovery and improvement in performance. Heat has a big impact on performance and muscle fatigue so this cooling hood will help athletes get back out to compete. The hood doesn't have a name yet. What would you guys name it?
