FRESH HOLIDAY APARTMENT IN BARCELONA
The Tyche Apartment in Barcelona serves as a holiday home for an Italian family. This bright and happy apartment came together thanks to the architects: Andrea Serboli, Margherita Serboli, and Matteo Colombo from CaSa Colombo and Serboli Architecture and collaborations with Margherita Serbol.
Before the renovations, the apartment consisted of many small, separated spaces which resulted in isolating both ends of the apartment. The apartment then transformed into a spacious, relaxing home complete with three bedrooms and its historical details preserved.
The architects wanted to make the most of natural lighting and reconfigured the apartment's layout so they would be able to flood in as much sunlight in the kitchen, living room, and eating area. All windows were restored and the false ceilings that were previously there were torn down to reveal a handsome Catalan vaults with a terracotta finish.
The homeowners wanted to remove the previous synthetic parquet floors and reintroduce the hexagonal patterned floors that were originally placed when the apartment was built. The apartment stays modern with a touch of luminous, contemporary colors on the tiles. Throughout the apartment, accents of pink, green, and other pastel colors can be seen, making it a very cheerful environment.
The property is housed in Art Nouveau building in Barcelona's Eixample district, a district known for its beautiful architecture, very fitting for this holiday apartment.
And... That's it!
