Tribeca gastro-pub in Shanghai
Tribeca, a New York-style pub, has recently opened in the central business and commercial district of Jing'an in Shanghai. Featuring high ceilings and concrete walls, this gastro-pub is designed by local studio Linehouse. The space is gritty with references and elements drawing from the prohibition era in NYC. All illustrations on the raw concrete walls were done by local artists Kevin Unsong, Sui Yao, and Sam Chong. These graphical drawings consist of drunk hats, extensive cigarette smoke, dancing feet, and a couple of bare knuckle boxers.
Linehouse wanted to create a strong, creative look for their restaurant. The interior was gutted and elements like bronze insertions, metal poles, and shadowless light bulbs were added to stimulate a sense of voyeurism.
Tribeca emits a sense of cool right as you enter the place. This will definitely be the next hot bar to hang out in the Jing'an area.
And... That's it!
