NYC Loft Comeback
Lafayette Lofts feature unique and distinctive living spaces in New York’s NoHo. The elegant architecture includes stained glass, original wood trim and floors and high vaulted ceilings.
One particular loft was recently converted into a modern family home by Lang Architecture. The architects wanted to preserve the nature of the former printing workshop and reach the original structure. The reason for the renovation? The client, Anna Beeber and her partner had been living there for a number of years but realised they needed more space once their family started growing.
The new plan included knocking down internal walls for additional bedrooms and bathrooms around a central and open core for living. The kitchen and living room are at the centre of the home which is divided by a glass pocket door. The glass is also able to let light in continuously throughout the day. A lot of historic character and raw spirit remains and is combined with Lang Architectures touch giving Lafayette Loft a new, sophisticated identity.
And... That's it!
