Here is Shanghai's most stylish boxing event: Brawl on the Bund
On Saturday evening the 3rd of December, Shanghai’s opulent crowd has once again had the opportunity to gather for the biannually held ‘Brawl on the Bund’. With each passing time, you can see a recognizable difference of how much this social event has grown since it was first introduced to this city. For instance, we have now had the second Brawl with a solid theme to it, the first being ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ last June, and this recent ‘Enter the Dragon’ theme. This makes the dress-up opportunities much more interesting for the attendees, as well as giving much more structure in terms of decor of the venue and entertainment throughout the night.
With this years theme for the Brawl, we had the chance to see women in all kinds of different and innovative versions of the Chinese Qipao as well as beautiful gala gowns, whereas the male crowd looked dapper as always for the event. The venue (Kerry Parkside Pudong), was decked out in complete theme with dragons hanging from the ceiling and the traditional colours of red and gold throughout the scene.
To start off the affair, the audience was given a quick introduction to the evening followed by a musical act by Katy Perry look-alike, and a traditional dragon dance accompanied by drumming. Then the night hit off, beginning with the female fighters.
As always an enjoyable evening filled with drinking, dining, chatting and fighting of course, all adding up to a very entertaining event. Fabulous prizes were won, the silent auction had great things to offer, venue and event were both the largest it has ever had, and as was be expected, fights were as serious as ever.
What will the next one have to offer to keep upping the previous ones, we can’t wait to see!
And… That’s it!
