Miuccia Prada thinks differently at Milan Fashion Week
Recently presented at Milan Fashion Week, Prada's latest collection demonstrated once more the atypical perception of Miuccia Prada regarding the representation of feminism through clothing. Both, the success and power of the prestigious house of Prada has long originated from its vision, very different from other Italian labels. While most of the emblematic catwalks have the tendency to present how women would look being wealthy and glamorous, Prada remains the exception to the rule.
Prada woman 'vagabonds through life' said Miuccia Prada. This year, once more standing out, the designer decided to express “the history of women, the dramas and happiness – when they are beautiful, and when they are horrible”.
The collection included very refined materials, sumptuous details, elaborated jewels and embroideries contrasting with more functional, less glamorous elements, contradicting the image of a sexy feminine figure. Leather corsets worn above tops, thick woolen socks or even handbags worn over the shoulder.
And... That's it !
