M.A.C x Chris Chang Fashion Show at Shanghai Water House

M.A.C x Chris Chang Fashion Show at Shanghai Water House

Last Friday, as Chris Chang aroused once more the fashion sphere when presenting her latest collection in partnership with the outstanding cosmetic and beauty label M.A.C, Shanghai Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016-17 edition came to a perfect ending.

Held in the sumptuous Shanghai Water House on the Cool Docks, when arriving at the venue, hundreds of visitors were welcomed to the colorful soirée through an impressive gate, illuminated in pink and covered with flowers and exaggerated patterns.

From 8.30pm to 9.30pm, waiting for the catwalk to begin, glasses were clinking as champagne, cocktails and other drinks were served with a side of canapés, macarons, fortune cookies and more. The acid-colored beauty products line created by M.A.C, in collaboration with Chris Chang and inspired by the ancient Chinese art form Kunqu was showcased on a side of the immense room. The guests had the exclusive privilege to try the different beauty products, and also receive precious advices from M.A.C make-up and cosmetics experts.

9.30pm, the time has come! As the music and brightness were lowered, warming up the room and giving the spectators a foretaste of Poesia’s collection, a traditional Chinese opera was performed. The first look popped by the runway to rousing and lively rhythms, explosive contrast with the introduction part.

Greatly inspired by the ancient Kunqu opera and using a multitude of elements from different Chinese ethnic tribes as well as tribals and embroideries, a fusion of traditional and pop-art was presented. As the designer's signature : playful shapes, stunning and smart ensembles of color tones as well as abundant yet magnificent details were flourishing on the runway.

The overall collection could be described as soft, joyful, gentle but also stimulating and extreme, creating an impactful multicolored effect. Enthralled by the music and spectacular succession of garments, the audience was completely carried away.

And… That’s it !
