Things to do in Shanghai on a Thursday

We love exploring and discovering new things everywhere we go and sometimes, the best way to get to know a city is getting lost in it! This hidden café, Makoo Café, is tucked away off Changle Lu at the end of Lane 339. Walk past the beautiful plants and flowers and through the doorway and you’ll find this enchanting cafe. It has a relaxing and scenic vibe, with their menu perfect for a summer’s morning. You can get a variety of teas at 36 RMB per cup or 66 RMB a pot, blueberry cheesecake for 29 RMB and coffees priced at around 35 RMB.

Summer in Shanghai can be hot hot hot! And the weekend is only around the corner so why not relax by an amazing beach and take in all that heat with an added tan. One of the best ways to get to a sandy beach without leaving Shanghai is at the Bund Beach. This beach setting has large sand pits facing the stunning view of Huangpu, a small pool, volleyball nets and plenty of places to buy refreshments.

The only Montreal-style deli in Shanghai and, therefore, the only place to find yourself on a Thursday night is Tock’s (open till 10pm). We love Tock’s for its authentic décor, amazing food and family friendly restaurant. We love Tock’s reuben (98 RMB), a triple-decker sandwich made with homemade sauerkraut and swiss cheese. It’s the best place we’ve been to in Shanghai with authentic meat and amazing dishes with cheese!

Not a long walk away from dinner is one of Shanghai’s most popular ladies nights at Bar Rouge on the Bund. They have free cocktails and manicures for ladies from 9:30- 11:30pm. We love Bar Rouge! It's always a friendly atmosphere, the music is always good and great vibes all around- plus you get an amazing rooftop view of the bund for free! You will have to dress up for this fun night against the Shanghai Skyline and mention the password “MVP” at the door for free entry at 12am, after that, it's 100 RMB.
