Things to do in Shanghai on a Wednesday
Pure and Whole is a western style vegetarian restaurant with the most amazing menu. You can head here for a perfect brunch. It's healthy, delicious and it's Wednesday so your body deserves a treat. It serves a highly nutritious and delicious array of options from salads, wraps, vegetarian burgers and pastas as well as healthy drinks.
(Pure and Whole has lots of locations but we love Jing’an, 98 Yanping Lu, near Xinzha Lu延平路98号, 近新闸路)
You’ve made it halfway through the week and the weekend is looking closer. Although Shanghai can be one of the most amazingly welcoming cities, sometimes its nice to have a little escape without having to board a plane. So hop on the metro to Shanghai Village located near the newly opened Shanghai Disney in the Pudong New Area where you can stroll along the streets that are seemingly similar to a movie set. You will also be able to get great bargains on designer brands from the same company, which is famous for Bicester Village in the UK. But if shopping isn’t for you, then the scenic area is relaxing and modern. Plus, from the 27th of this month, it will be hosting live music performances besides the water with plenty of food and drink options!
(Shanghai Village is at 88 Shengdi Dong Lu, Pudong New Area (open 10am-8pm Mon-Fri; 9am-9pm Sat-Sun and public holidays). Take Line 11 to Shanghai Disney and get one of the regular shuttle buses to Shanghai Village (Yi Ou Lai) from outside the station.
After you have escaped from the busy city, carry on exploring by immersing yourself into the Middle East for dinner. Shanghai has a lot to offer and is incredible for its multi-cultural community that is always growing, and one of our favourites is 1001 Nights, a traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, which offers shish taouk (chicken skewers) for 68 RMB, seabass for 135 RMB, traditional hummus 38 RMB and other dishes. This restaurant is perfect for groups and can share lots of dishes to make sure you try everything or can also find something nice for yourself.

Let your hair down and celebrate half the week! Correct at The Shelter plays old school hip hop, dancehall and funk by T-Plus, Caution, Dead702, Roo and others. Its free, has great vibes and a great place to start your Shanghai Summer weekend early.

Welcome Wednesday in style….
And That’s it!
