Celebrity's two sides of personas in one picture
Celebrities seem to be pretty close to us and we might think we know everything about them. We see them on TV everyday, listen to their embarrassing high school stories from interviews, know what they eat for lunch through Instagram… However, do we actually know them that well? We are always curious to see what these celebrities are like when they are out of the spotlight.
Photographer Andrew H. Walker came up with this cool idea, he took a series of double-portraits of celebrities at the Toronto Film Festival, revealing their public and private personalities. Over 50 actors and musicians took part in this photo shoot including Anne Heathway, Richard Gere, Oscar Isaac, Bill Nighy, John Legend, Dakota Fanning, Pharrell Williams and Lily-Rose Depp. The setting is fairly simple with only a table and a piece of tape that is used to divide a line between a celebrity’s two personas. Walker asked celebrities to pose as how they normally present to the public and once they cross the line, they act as their real self on the other side of the table.
Another interesting thing is that these portraits don’t indicate which side is the public persona of the celebrity and which one is the private. It leaves to you to figure out the answer yourself.
