Thom Browne Never Fails To Amaze

Thom Browne Never Fails To Amaze

Thom Browne, an American Fashion Designer, debuted his Fall/Winter 2017 collection at Paris Fashion Week.  True to his showmanship, Browne graced the audience with a dramatic and unique collection. The collection aimed at revamping the traditional lifeless suit and focused on three zany style variations. Each play with proportion, layering and the mastery of the art of textiles.

The models wore a distinct black lip taint, the perfect complement to the dramatic aura and grey woollen texture of the suits. Each outfit featured delicately placed buttons guiding the outline of the garments and bridging a channel between the three styles. Our favourite looks of each style are displayed below.

Look14 This style features aviator goggles and uneven sleeves that dragged across the white floor. Not to go unmissed in this style are the ballooned shoes reflecting Browne’s outlandish characteristics.

Look 30 Arguably the most eccentric of them all. This look features an outrageously oversized suit jacket with all the trimmings. This costume ‘esque’ design provides a modern take on the double-breasted suit revealing the true beauty of the garment in an exaggerated fashion. A breath-taking statement piece.

Look 32 The most practical of the styles, look 32 adds a hint of reality to the collection. Adding, creativity and flare to a wearable design.

Browne commented after the show that the collection expressed “the appreciation of making clothes really well ... [and the] simple idea of playing with proportion”
