Weird and wonderful books come to light at Libri Belli
Libri Belli books
You know that old saying; “Never judge a book by its cover”? Well, in this particular case, I want you to forget that. Italian book collector, Livia Satriano thinks books should literally be judged by their covers and has created an entire idea using this concept.
Her idea, Libri Belli, is a library consisting of books from her personal collection. After collecting these books for years, upon years, she is now ready to share her findings with the public. The Italian title of her library literally translates in English to “beautiful books.” In Ms. Satriano’s words, “If it is true that an ugly cover can sometimes hide a surprise inside, a beautiful cover rarely has disappointing content behind it.”
From books about childhood to Italian crime novels to world photography to a “1970s practical guide on prostitution”, all boasting countless images of original cover art, it is needless to say, Libri Belli is one of the more unique personal collections you will ever see.
