A completely new approach to art?
Good news for those who never really understood how people could gaze at paintings for hours (and don’t get bored) - as art is getting more and more interesting. Whether it is painting landscapes from a completely new angle or recreating sunsets only by using light and an A4 paper, contemporary artists know how to capture their audience.
Stefano Bolcato, an Italian artist, took the whole idea of modern art to a new level. In his latest series “People” he reimagines world famous paintings, such as Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, or Antonio Pollaiolo’s Portrait of a Girl, with his great passion since childhood: LEGO figures. As a huge fan of the universally known figures, he has been including them in his works for years .
Using the same technique as the original artist, Bolcato pays a lot of attention to details and managed to fit in the yellow figures so perfectly, the spectator immediately recognizes the original painting.
His work was on display at the Archeology Musem of Salerno, but luckily Bolcato also uploaded them on his Instagram.
Let’s hope his paintings will make their way to Shanghai in the near future.
And... That’s it!
