The Hidden Hero
Have you ever dreamt of any super powers as a kid? I know I did. So did all of us. Being able to read thoughts of other people (or at least of a girl/boy that we liked in high school), other would dream of unstoppable strength, or a mega mind, being able to stop the time or seeing what the future would hold. I, personally, always dreamt of flying, but what happened to all these dreams of being a Hero. Is it really that easy to make them all fade away? Days go by, we settle down and eventually stop dreaming.
However, there are still few rare amongst us who believe in super powers and help you think out of the box, perceive the dream and take that Hidden Hero of yours out and about. Meet Olivier Dressen, the 33 year old "superhero" full of creativity.
Born and brought up in Belgium, he later decides to travel around the world and finally come to Shanghai in 2012. Since then he has been a film producer, creative director, designer, photographer and an unusual artist for 10 years. This hero’s talents are totally unrestricted.
Hero's ambition and memories are the motivation for his creativity. He started painting when he was 4, seeing it as a way to express his unique feelings and emotions. A broken toy, unexpected childhood incidents, these pieces of memory are what Hero is cherishing in his artwork. All these memories were recently collected and transformed into unique pieces of artwork.
This month he united together with the great Made In Shanghai (MIS) gallery at M50 art space where he presented his collection of a Hidden Hero works. The place offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy live music while sipping on drinks and coffee and finally find time to relax.
While the opening of the exhibition took place on June 27 the exhibition is still going on until the end of the month, so be sure to check it out.
