Paris : Neith Nyer nailed it !
Paris, France - Showcased on the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Neith Nyer 's SS17 collection by Francisco Terra was immensely inspired by artists such as Ben Elliot and Markus Schinwald as well as David Fincher's memorable movie Fight Club, as the invitation card with a pink soap on it led us to believe.
The connoted reference behind this third collection was the avatar culture, millennial youth, strongly linked to the beginning of the internet.
Loyal to the brand's codes, models walked the runway with such an attitude wearing Neith Nyer's signature pieces : deconstructed tops, sleek perfectos and slip dresses, all designed in a groundbreaking grunge aesthetic. The collection also featured manga artist HIZGI's illustrations on a few pieces, jacquards and tweeds.
By showing both girls and boys wearing metallic piercings all over their faces, very feminine designs like ruffled leather tops or whether destroyed denim, Francisco Terra has blurred the lines between genders, bringing density and volume to the silhouettes, his own vision of what we could name a 'punk youth' was brought on stage.
And... That's it !
