BMW Museum In Beijing Is An Architectural pearl
BMW opened its own museum in Beijing, China earlier this year, showcasing the years of innovation and timelessness of their automobile.
Designed by studio Crossboundaries, the museum shows hints of the Chinese aesthetic heritage in the most modest and elegant way. Upon entering the museum’s reception area, you will be welcomed with a massive space, almost two-story high, that has drapes of long red fabric, subtly referring to the grand Chinese imperial gate. The vertical drapes draws your attention down to the exhibition hall, where the glossy walls are filled with horizontal lighting strips that interpret the motion of speed that the car projects. The ceiling is covered by reflective stainless steel that creates mirroring image of the cars on display, leading the visitors through the exhibition.
On top of this grand room, the museum offers some interactive activity such as game room, movie theatre or small exhibition space for temporary display.
And... That's it!
