J Apostrophe: Feminine Avant-Garde
2011 saw the launch of J Apostrophe by sisters Ji-Seon Lee and Ji-Yeon Lee. Their collections have been based on the concept of harmony and their SS18 collection was no different. Their clothes used an array of materials, which all came together to create a feminine, avant-garde collection. The combinations of sequins and clean lines along with neutral tones and pops of colour all created one harmonious sequence that transformed the runway.
The designs although exciting, remained elegant in their simple lines which hung gracefully off the models’ silhouettes. The powerful neutrals within their collection stayed true to the minimalistic feminine designs that the sisters have been known for.
The individual flares of each item, such as bright blue ruffles attached to a professional, white jumpsuit encompassed the idea of harmony: the bringing together of elements that shouldn’t work but under the creative eyes of the Lee sisters exemplified nothing but modern elegance. The entirely sequined suit in its candyfloss coloured hue was designed for a boss, the everyday woman. These unique pieces were anything but overpowering; they flowed with the feminine, minimalistic taste of the Lee sisters.
The collection was simplicity with a modern, powerful touch.
And... That's it!
