Fashion brands get a tongue-in-cheek makeover
“Fashion: what happens if you recreate those symbols yourself? What exactly is it that we covet?”
Polly Brown’s latest photo series “Fashion” challenges the modern-day phenomenon of consumerism. The collection of Photos features DIY replicas of iconic labels including Supreme, Adidias and Chanel. By only using Sharpies and Tipex as instruments of design, these crude counterfeits aim at undermining the value and necessity of the luxurious items modern consumers desire. The collections underlying message is very poignant and leaves viewers questioning their obsessive consumption centric mind-set and desire for luxury brands.
